Meet Rabbi Shlomo Slatkin, M.S., LCPC
Founder of the “No Blame, No Shame” Intensive Marriage Counseling Program

I’d love to guide you and your partner through this life-changing experience. Call (443) 645-0630 to learn more or schedule a private 2-day intensive—available online or in select locations across the U.S. and internationally.

I’m Rabbi Shlomo Slatkin, LCPC, Certified Imago Relationship Therapist. After years of working with couples in traditional weekly counseling, I realized the slow pace wasn’t enough for relationships in crisis. Couples needed clarity and change now—not months down the line.

That’s why I created the 2-Day Marriage Intensive. In this private format, you’ll experience my No Blame, No Shame Method—a calm, structured process that replaces reactivity and silence with honest, healing conversations.

Unlike traditional therapy that can feel like taking sides or rehashing old wounds, our No Blame, No Shame marriage counseling creates a safe, structured space where both partners are heard with empathy. Grounded in trauma-aware practices and Rabbi Shlomo Slatkin’s unique adaptation of Imago Relationship Therapy, this method helps couples move beyond criticism and defensiveness to genuine understanding and reconnection.

What Couples Are Saying About Our Last Chance Marriage Retreat

We have been consistently seeking help for our relationship for 33+ years even when trying to decide if to marry. We were three months into an in-house separation and I was experiencing my worst depression ever. After one round of the first exercise I experienced more safety, empathy, and breakthrough than EVER before.

I didn’t think I could get my husband to come with me to your intensive couples therapy weekend. But when he saw that your process was built on a unique mechanism of a No-Blame, No Shame style of communicating- especially since I’ve been such a yeller- he agreed. We just got back from our 2 day marriage retreat with you. I’m not even sure where to begin! We are blown away…

After going through your marriage counseling bootcamp, I feel like a completely different person. Although we have spent years in therapy, we were still on the verge of divorce. The skills we have learned with your imago therapy  have helped us break the vicious cycle of conflict and we are actually able to enjoy each other’s company again.

What Makes Our Marriage Intensives Different

Unlike many retreats, ours is led by licensed therapists devoted exclusively to couples.

Your work doesn’t end after the 2-Day Marriage Intensive. To make sure your breakthroughs last, every couple receives:

  • 8 follow-up counseling sessions – to reinforce tools, track progress, and stay accountable.

  • Structured exercises & homework – guided activities to keep you practicing new skills at home.

  • Ongoing therapist support – personalized guidance so you don’t slip back into old patterns.

  • Step-by-step roadmap – a clear plan to help you move from crisis to lasting connection.

Most retreats end after the weekend. Ours includes 60 days of guided follow-up, ensuring the changes you make stick.

“The retreat gave us hope, but it was the follow-up sessions that really made the difference. We stayed on track, kept practicing the tools, and today our marriage feels stronger than ever.”Past Intensive Couple

One Couple. One Therapist. Total Focus. Private, distraction-free counseling designed for your specific relationship dynamics.

Proven 5-Step No Blame, No Shame Method. A structured process (rooted in Imago and other evidence-based approaches) that helps couples break destructive patterns, rebuild trust, and reconnect emotionally.

Expert Marriage Counselors. Every clinician is licensed and trained in marriage restoration.

Clarity and Lasting Results. Gain insight into your situation, stop spinning in uncertainty, and make six months of progress in just two days—with eight follow-up sessions included.

Real Therapy, Not Coaching. Private, personalized, evidence-based.

Flexible Accommodations. Stay where you’re most comfortable—near our Baltimore office or at one of our other U.S. locations.

No Splitting Into Individual Sessions. Healing happens between partners, not separately with a therapist. That’s why we keep all sessions together, so both of you feel heard and change happens in the relationship itself.

Aftercare Roadmap. Every intensive includes a 60-day plan with eight follow-up sessions, accountability check-ins, and structured exercises so your breakthroughs last.

Not for Everyone. Our intensives are powerful, but they’re not the right fit for every couple. If you’re only looking for weekly sessions with the closest therapist paneled with your insurance, we may not be the best fit for you. Couples who work with us are ready for some deeper work because they know that’s where breakthroughs happen.

Results in Days, Not Months. What takes six months of weekly therapy can be achieved in just two focused days. Couples leave with clarity, hope, and tools they can use immediately—not after months of waiting.

An Investment That Saves More Than Money. At $6,997, a 2-day intensive with follow-up care is often less than what couples spend on months of therapy—and far less than the cost of divorce, financially and emotionally.

✔ Break Free from Old Patterns. A couples therapy retreat is proven way to break free from old patterns, repair trust (even after betrayal), and rediscover the partnership you always hoped for-pulling you out of daily distractions and conflict cycles, creating the safety and focus you need to truly connect and heal.

✔ What You Can Achieve. Couples leave with restored hope, renewed trust, and a clear action plan for building the marriage they both want.

✔ Couples travel from all over the U.S. — and abroad — to work with us. Most intensives are hosted in our home office in Baltimore, MD, with additional options in select states such as PA, NY, OH, FL, TX, CA, CO, AZ, WA, HI and internationally in the UK and Spain, making it accessible yet worth the trip for a truly life-changing experience.

What is a marriage intensive?
A focused, private 2-day retreat designed to help couples make in days the progress that usually takes months of weekly counseling.

How is a marriage intensive different from weekly counseling?
Weekly therapy often loses momentum. An intensive provides immersive, structured sessions with no distractions—accelerating breakthroughs.

How much does a marriage intensive cost?
Our 2-day intensive is $6,997 and includes eight follow-up sessions. Compared to ongoing therapy or divorce, it’s a cost-effective investment.

What if one partner isn’t sure about coming?
Many couples arrive with one partner hesitant. The intensive process often helps both partners gain clarity and renewed hope.

What results can we expect in two days?
Most couples report clarity on the situation, tools they can go home with to get through difficulties and real hope—results that normally take six months or more. Most of our couples recommit to staying together as well after experiencing their last chance marriage retreat.

Who leads the marriage counseling weekend?
Licensed marriage therapists trained exclusively in couples work, including Rabbi Shlomo Slatkin, LCPC, Certified Imago Therapist.

Is it covered by insurance or HSA/FSA?
We provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA accounts may also apply.

Who should not do a marriage intensive?
It works best when both partners are willing to participate. It is not recommended where there is ongoing untreated addiction.

You’re a Rabbi, is your counseling religious? No—while Shlomo is a Rabbi, his counseling is clinical and non-religious, focused on evidence-based relationship therapy rather than faith-based guidance. With that said, we do have traditional values in promoting strong marriages and working to keep a couple together and happy when possible.

Do marriage retreats really work? Empirically, we’re always astounded by the powerful breakthroughs couples experience in just two days. And for those looking for the research, studies confirm that 2–3 day marriage intensives significantly reduce marital distress and repair trust faster than weekly therapy—especially when paired with follow-up support.

Can a couples therapy intensive weekend help after infidelity?

Yes. Infidelity is one of the most painful breaches of trust in a marriage, and a 2-day intensive creates the focused time and safe structure needed to address it head-on. Instead of waiting months to rebuild trust in weekly sessions, an intensive allows couples to process the betrayal, understand what led to it, and begin repairing the foundation of their relationship with clear tools and a step-by-step plan.
